For the past nearly 5 & 1/2 years, our 4 Signature Savory Cakes (Seville – chorizo & manchego, Jamaican Curry – curry spiced, Croque Monsieur – ham & jarlsberg & Tuscan – roasted red pepper & parmesan) have been a beloved quirky & unique menu item at Sweet Revenge. When I launched in 2008, they were our primary source of “real food” :). We had cakes – sweet and savory and not a whole lot of anything else. I was sure that patrons would eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And bonus points for my let them eat cake strategy: running a simple SKU business looked brilliant in the business plan.
As we have slowly transitioned into a restaurant with actual “real food”, I’ve come to the realization that it is time for these sources of delight to take a bow and say good night.
Savory cakes – we’ve loved you and we will love you in fond memories.
